A glorious picnic season in Central Park

One of the best things of being in New York City during the spring and summer seasons is having picnic in Central Park. More specifically, 843 acres of scenic landscapes, grassy lawns and tranquil lakes where one can stop for a glorious picnic. Central Park is notorious as a welcoming oasis to slip off those sandals, get on your back and simply unwind. Who hasn’t seen countless movies with people laid out on the grass?

Whether it’s for an extended weekend picnic with friends or a quick lunch during the week, there are no excuses not to try it. All you need is a large blanket and a few refreshing snacks. If you’re lacking the energy, even better; sitting on the grass, surrounded by nature and soaking in the sun is the best remedy to chase away your blues.

Apart from feasting in the park, some of my favorite pastimes are strolling by the lakes to watch the ducks, admiring rainbows after sudden summer showers and hopping on boats. And it’s not even half of the activities one can do in Central Park.
