If there is one thing I love to do in New York City once the winter is over, that’s strolling over the Brooklyn Bridge. I love the perspective I get of the city from every single corner. It’s the best place to take in the unrivaled Manhattan skyline and an invigorating walk or bike ride across the bridge. Connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn over East River, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States and the first steel-wire suspension bridge.
After several years in NYC, I am no longer captivated by the usual touristic spots the city has to offer. However, the Brooklyn Bridge, with its innovative design and surreal view of the entire city keeps me coming back year after year.
Perfectly located in downtown’s Financial District, the bridge captures both Wall Street and its impressive skyscrapers, as well as the iconic midtown city scape and the Empire State Building. The colors displayed by the time sunset hits are even more thrilling.
