The Old City Centre of Bucharest has been undergoing some mass reconstruction for the past two years or so. Houses have been refurbished, stores have been modernized, and above all, cafes and restaurants have been incessantly surfacing on the increasingly vibrant pedestrian district.
Walking the streets of Lipscani – as most Romanians commonly call the neighborhood – I discovered a significant number of cafes whose décor I found terribly inviting and original. Storage Room café is one of them: the bright colored chairs, the baroque-inspired mirrors, the hanging bicycles and comfy neon pillows made it all the more interesting for me – an interior design devotee – to sit down and check their menu.
My only complaints would be the loud house and techno music, that no one seemed to enjoy, and the kitchen, which is strangely located somewhere outside the establishment. But then again, I’ve seen more bizarre things …
